United Airlines Holdings, Inc. is a holding company, and its principal, wholly-owned subsidiary is United Airlines, Inc. (United). When UAL merged with Continental Airlines, it became the world’s largest airline, measured by passenger revenue. United is a founding member of the Star Alliance. At the beginning of 2021, the company announced seven new domestic routes and three new international routes and launched 39 domestic routes and five international routes, with ten more international routes. UAL purchased 270 new Boeing and Airbus aircraft, the most significant combined order in the airline’s history and the biggest by an individual carrier in the last decade. Also, ULA entered into a commercial agreement with Denver-based aerospace company Boom Supersonic to add aircraft to United’s global fleet and a cooperative sustainability initiative. The market capitalisation of the company was USD 14.65B as of September 21, 2021.
