Metlife Inc (MET) is the holding corporation for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, a provider of insurance, annuities and employee benefit programs, serving more than ninety million customers in over thirty countries headquartered in New York City, U.S.A. The company's market positions are in the U.S.A, Latin America, Asia, Europe, Japan, Africa, Middle East. MetLife ranked 1st on Fortune magazine’s list of the World’s Most Admired Companies in the insurance. In early 2020 MetLife agreed with Farmers Insurance Group to purchase MetLife's auto and home insurance business for $ 3.94B (USD), and completed in spring 2021. MetLife auto and home was the 18th largest auto insurer in the U.S, with a presence in all 50 states writing $ 2.4B (USD) in auto premiums in 2019. Metlife co-owns the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, in partnership with Tishman Realty & Construction. MetLife plans to reduce location-based GHG emissions by addition 30% from 2019 to 2030 and to originate $ 20B (USD) of new green investments in areas such as renewable energy, LEED-certified buildings, and green bonds.
