Coinbase Global, Inc Profile

Coinbase Global Inc, known as Coinbase is an american company operating a cryptocurrency exchange. Coinbase recently IPO’d on April 14, 2021 the current share price gives them a market capitalization of 51.68 billion USD. The company has over 56 million users, $223 Billion worth of assets on the platform and has quarterly trade volumes of $335 Billion. As the company operates a crypto exchange the success of the company is closely interlinked with the use and value of the cryptocurrencies offered on the platform, the most important of which is Bitcoin (as it has by far the largest market cap). With the recent boom in crypto currency prices and speculation this is a good thing for Coinbase and they achieved revenues over $1.1 billion in 2020 and significant revenue growth with over 1.5 billion in Q1 of 2021. Since the IPO Coinbase stock has been quite volatile, and currently since the date of the IPO the share price is down almost 25% Coinbase could thrive over the recent boom in crypto currency interest, however since the recent crash in price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies this could be bad news for the company.

Share CFD Trading FAQ

Each investor owning shares of a company is also owning fragments of the company. A quite simple way to explain what a stock is is basically when a company divides itself into several shares and then it makes a part of these equities available to the public, at a price. Each investor owning shares of a company is owning fragments of the company.

While shares represent units of ownership within a company Contracts for Difference (CFDs) allow traders to speculate on the future share price fluctuations of an underlying asset. Thus when trading CFDs traders do not physically own the underlying asset. CFDs are available for a range of underlying assets, such as shares, commodities, and foreign exchange, and indices.
