Chimera Investment Corporation is a real estate company (REIT) located in the United States that invests in commercial real estate. Chimera Investment Corporation was founded in 2003. Mortgage assets comprise a varied portfolio of assets, including home equity lines of credit (HELOCs), mortgage loan loans (both agency and non-agency), agency mortgage-backed securities, and commercial mortgage-backed equities (CMBS). (backed by pools of commercial mortgage loans), and other real estate-related securities through its subsidiaries. It really has decided to be treated as a real estate investment trust (REIT), and if it transfers at least 90% of its taxable income to its stockholders, it will not be liable to federal corporate income taxes. This New York-based corporation was founded in 2007 and has its headquarters in New York City.
