The company is the global leader in the supply of liquefied natural gas process technology and equipment and has had a working relationship with NASA for fifty years and has supplied the liquid hydrogen used for every Space Shuttle launch and the Mercury and Apollo missions. Air Products & Chemicals has 20,000 employees worldwide, operates in more than 50 countries and has approximately 170,000 customers. Air Products & Chemicals stock (APD.xnys) is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), had a market capitalisation of $65.93B (USD) as of January 2022 and $8.85B (USD) in 2020 yearly revenue. The company signed together with ACWA Power and NEOM an agreement with ThyssenKrupp for a world-scale green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility powered by renewable energy. Air Products, NEOM, ACWA Power will operate the facility, which will produce hydrogen to be synthesised into carbon-free ammonia for export exclusively by Air Products to global markets, starting production in 2026.
