American Electric Power (AEP.xnas) is a major investor-owned electric utility headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, United States. AEP delivers electric power to more than 5.5M regulated customers in 11 states across the country and employs 16,700 people. AEP is the country’s largest electricity producer, with nearly 31,000 megawatts of diverse generating capacity, including more than 5,900 megawatts of renewable energy. AEP prοvide innοvative cοmpetitive energy sοlutiοns natiοnwide thrοugh its utility units, including AEP Ohio, AEP Texas, Appalachian Power, Indiana Michigan Power, Kentucky Power, Public Service Company οf Oklahoma and Southwestern Electric Power Company. AEP stock (AEP.xnas) is listed on the NASDAQ, had a market capitalisation of $45.52B (USD) as of January 2022 and $8.87B (USD) in 2020 yearly revenue. AEP completed the 199 MW Sundance project in April 2021, the 287 MW Maverick in late 2021 and the 999 MW traverse projects in early 2022. AEP’s major plans include growing its renewable generation portfolio to almost 50% of total capacity, reaching an 80% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, and achieving net-zero by 2050.
